I know all too well what it is to flee from fire.
Running with three dogs and a cat from the Lilac fire back in 2017, I’ve learned you really need to be prepared.
Plan ahead for your family and pets.
Have a kennel with accessories such as harness, food, and bowls readily available in case of emergency. Arrange ahead of time a place to meet up, in case family gets separated.
Always have an emergency bag packed with accessories you would take on an overnight stay for both you and your pets. Include contacts, phone charger, water, and snacks.
I’ve also learned from the loss and despair of those around us during that time, and know that every little bit helps.
The families and animals affected by the fire need your help.
California needs your help.
The devastation is real.
Be safe, prepare ahead of time.

If you are in or near any active fire area, leave.
Don’t wait to be told to evacuate. Nothing is worth your life.
